Spiritual Retreats


Congregational Quiet Day

  • Purpose: To allow for quiet contemplation and worship under the guidance of a retreat facilitator.
  • Description: A one-day spiritual retreat with periods of quiet individual contemplation punctuated by brief gatherings for corporate worship.  
  • Session Length & Frequency: 6 hours (one day) 
  • Methods & Materials: Brief instruction followed by structured periods of silence and worship..
  • Faculty: Various Spiritual Formation Centers staff 
  • Location: Various sites.
  • Cost: Varies based on the site and the sponsor (whether it is an exclusive retreat sponsored by a congregation or an open retreat offered directly by the Spiritual Formation Centers).


Custom Designed Retreat (on request)

  • Purpose: To allow a congregation to focus on a specific issue (or issues) in a retreat setting under the guidance of a retreat facilitator.
  • Description: A retreat designed around a congregation's or organization's specific need.
  • Session Length & Frequency: One-day (6 hours), over-night (one night), or weekend (two night).
  • Methods & Materials: Varying based on congregational or organizational needs.
  • Faculty: Various Spiritual Formation Centers staff based on congregational or organizational needs.
  • Location: Various sites.
  • Cost: Varies based on topic, length, and number of facilitators required.


Walking the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Discipline

  • Purpose: To expose participants to the spiritual practice of walking the labyrinth.
  • Description: A half-day retreat session at the St, Nicholas Church Labyrinth (currently under construction) under the guidance of a facilitator.  
  • Session Length & Frequency: 3 hours (one-half day) 
  • Methods & Materials: Brief instruction followed by experiential learning.
  • Faculty: Various Spiritual Formation Centers associates.
  • Location: St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, Germantown, MD or your own church's labyrinth.
  • Cost: $25 per participant at open events at St. Nicholas Church Labyrinth, $400 per session if done at another church's site.
